PRESENTATION

The Kumba Project was born on December 2003 within the Italian Secretary of Medical Students (SISM) of Ferrara . The purpose of the project is to send medical students to Kumba ( Cameroon ) with the objective to collaborate with the Cameroonian sanitary service, by attending and sustaining the local medical personnel in the clinical practice. Besides, this project is aimed to improve the sanitary conditions of the rural communities of the outskirts of Kumba, through itinerant campaigns of hygienic-sanitary information done in collaboration with the local authorities.

The local committee of SISM of Ferrara is the main coordinator of the organization and management of all the activities related to the Kumba Project. It is also responsible for keeping the contacts with the National Council of SISM through the current Liaison Officer.
