CLINICAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM

2004
To send, at least twice a year (periods: July-August and October-November), groups constituted by 8-10 enrolled voluntary students that frequent the second triennium of Medicine Bachelor Course (minimum of clinical experience is required in terms of attendance). For every rotation it is established a duration of 4-5 weeks, but it is possible also a prolongation of the permanence according to the specific availabilities.
Students are invited to participate, before the departure, to preliminary meetings, where the salient themes of the project will be illustrated and discussed. Such meetings will be held in Ferrara , in collaboration with the Department of Infectious Diseases of the University of Ferrara .
The daily practice in the clinics quoted consists of out-patient, internistic, surgical, anesthesiological and obstetrical activity. The students are provided with drugs collected and sent from Italy ; such medicine is prescribed and furnished freely to the population.
2005
Additionally to the objectives reached in 2004 it is also planed:
The carrying out of clinical activity to the Kumba General Hospital , in the last period of the students' permanence in Kumba under the guide of a tutor individualized in concordance with the authorities involved.
2006
Construction of a Guest-House . Such provisions will be done to host the volunteers. Moreover, a place will be predisposed for the formation of the medical and paramedical personnel (Italian and local) in subject of sanitary education.
