WHERE IS KUMBA?
Cameroon is situated to the North of the sub-Saharan equatorial region in Africa. The typically humid climate of the equatorial region doesn’t change throughout the year during which the Dry Season alternates itself with the Wet Season. Dry Season takes place from November to May with temperatures as high as 38° - 40°C, while during the Rainy Season torrential rain is the main event.

Kumba is located in the South - West province of Cameroon, which is, along with the North – West one, the English speaking part of the country. In the rest of the country French is the most widely spoken language.

The city has a population of about 350 000 people that is widely spread covering a large area. Buea Road is the main street of the city, along which are situated St. Francis and the Ejed Clinic. An enormous market takes place in the area where it is possible to find nearly everything; from fruits and vegetables to clothes, shoes etc.

Kumba: the market

What impresses you most arriving at Kumba is the intensity of the colours: the blue and clear sky, but unfortunately, difficult to see in the rainy season, contrasts with the green of the rioting vegetation and with the red soil roads. The warm welcome and the hospitality of the population make you feel quite comfortable right from the start.
